Dear Friends, I would appreciate it if you could print & take a poster to you work place and/or club(s): Poster
My plan is to go back … together with a group of family and friends and charter the whole boat. It was a fantastic holiday…and a beautiful boat! I returned to the UK; very well slept, relaxed, sun-tanned and well fed! All aspects of the trip were handled with such competence by the English owner captain and crew that all i had to get done was finish my book. Tui, the on board chef, prepared delicious traditional Turkish food. Everyday the Turkish captain/crew; Altay, sailed us to a new ‘paradise’ to swim, snorkel, sunbathe or to moor for the night.. This boat, captain , crew will be my choice when i return … i unreservedly recommend !JH. Lewes. April 2014
Our Gulet- Holiday on the beautiful Lady Sovereign II with Irish Owner/Captain Gary and his Turkish crew ( Altay and Tui) along the Turkish South Coast was a real pleasure and a fantastic experience . This is Gary’s first season, after spending the winter working on his boat, and with the high standard he has set he should go from strength to strength in the years to come. The boat has been elegantly furnished with comfortable day beds on the deck for 12 people to enjoy. There is plenty of space to sit/lie down and eat on board and nothing is too much trouble for Gary and his crew/chef. The food was superb, always freshly prepared and cooked by Tui,the Chef, beating many of the local restaurants – and they are good! The route is tailored to the group’s wishes and as the crew knows every little bay in the area you can be sure of discovering real “gems” along the coast. Having an English Owner and a crew that also speaks English quite well made a huge difference and we shared lots of laughs with these lovely people. We had a very relaxing time, sunbathing, snorkeling, and strolling through quaint seaside towns. Next year we will definitely come back!S. Petzold. Lewes. April 2014
Our Guilet cruise adventure was fantastic- after a taxi ride through the Turkish landscape, we arrived at the boat and were even greeted with a campari! Overall, the whole trip was very relaxing, the staff were friendly and there was generally a nice atmosphere. The captain and crew were very flexible, which meant it was up to us to decide how much time to spend sailing and sight-seeing on land. This gave us the freedom to explore the beautiful Turkish coast-line at our leisure. Each day, there were opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and fishing, which in my opinion makes this an ideal holiday destination not only for adults, but also for families with children. We were presented with delicious traditional Turkish meals and everyone went home very happy and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who fancies a bit of an adventure, or simply a break from everyday life.Jonna. P. Hamburg. April 2014

As featured in a previous issue of Viva Lewes! We have just enjoyed an idyllic week’s cruise along the Turkish coast from Marmaris to Bozburun and back with Gary Blount’s Gulet barefoot cruises, along with several other like-minded sybarites.
His beautiful Turkish gulet “Lady Sovereign II” is a traditional tall-masted ketch, ideal for coastal cruises whether powered by
its 400hp engine or its sails. This is the sort of holiday (more of a life-enhancing experience, really!) that we could recommend to anyone – even if (like us!) they are not particularly nautical.
Sightseeing and sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling in the warm, sapphire-blue waters of the Aegean. An hour’s meditative yoga each day at both sunrise and sunset, led by the lovely Emma, not only gave us an appetite for more of the local cuisine but also helped us appreciate the tranquil beauty of the region, its people and its’ wildlife – and our privileged place in the greater scheme of things.
We all had an absolutely fabulous time!
The boat was lovely – the crew had obviously spent a long time painting and polishing to get it looking so good. The crew themselves, I couldn’t fault, they couldn’t do enough to help us.
He knew the area well and the best places to go (and moved if we found ourselves sitting under a non-moving cloud). We left ourselves in his hands – he discussed with us what we wanted to do on any particular day and made suggestions which we mostly accepted and appreciated. An excellent skipper.
that boy can cook. He did really well coping with not only vegetarian meals, but also providing an egg free diet for one of the children. How he made egg free pancakes is a mystery and a miracle! The food was plentiful and delicious. One of the children declared that he was the “best cook in the world”. He also knew the area really well and volunteered information about the history, vegetation etc etc as well as knowing the best restaurants to eat in on our nights out.
couldn’t have been more helpful. We got really used to plates appearing and disappearing. A bit of a shock to get back to the UK and find that tables didn’t miraculously clear themselves.
All in all the crew were charming and delightful, never intruding, but also volunteering information/direction when necessarySusan. Lewes. June 2016
